My husband Rob has been bugging me for years to write the recipes for so many dishes I've prepared throughout our marriage. We're talking 51-years! (By the way, not always blissful, but never dull to say the least!) With the exception of family recipes and classic creations I don't like making the same dish thing twice. It's much more fun to improvise as I go along. So, I never bothered writing anything down. Why? I probably wouldn't make it again. Rob's position was just the opposite...knowing they would be forever lost. I was and still am content in staying out of the limelight...not taking myself that seriously. We're very different people.
Rob was and still is a very talented guy. There doesn't seem to be anything he can't do or figure out how to do it...definitely drawn toward self-expression. He was a radio announcer, newswriter, columnist, ad agency CEO, broadcaster, and the creative drive behind hundreds of ad campaigns and commercials. Today, he writes psychological suspense novels, produces television shows, and is a syndicated TV culinary personality. And in his spare time (when there is some), he enjoys giving back by building elaborate toy barns and dollhouses, then donating them to local children's charities.
I wish I had his energy. He says I do...just expressed in different ways. My thing is and has always been family and home. Food is an important element...a wonderful gravitating glue that hold so many memories of family meals, gatherings, entertaining and holidays. Behind each one is a story. So, I decided to introduce each recipe with a little background you may enjoy.
Well...here I go at last. Let me know what you think.
